Walking with the Excluded: What It Means To Be a Refugee in the US

Join us for an engaging presentation by Laura Jones, head of the refugee resettlement program at Catholic Charities.  She will answer these questions and more:
· How many individuals are refugees in the world? 
· Do you know the difference between a refugee and a migrant? 
· Are refugees here legally in the US? 
· How do refugees get resettled in their new country? 
 
Catholic Charities is the largest refugee resettlement agency in the world.  The resettlement office here in Charlotte will receive over 425 refugees this year. Over time more than 90 parishioners have joined St. Peter refugee mentoring teams to help Catholic Charities assist the newly arrived refugees adapt to their new home and culture.
