Hike location: Landsford Canal State Park in Catawba, SC. This hike is close by and only 3 miles and pretty flat. The Rocky Shoals spider lilies will be in bloom on the shoals of the Catawba river at landsford canal. The canal was built circa 1820 for small boats hauling cargo downriver to bypass the shoals. Some of the canal remains. You can see a lot of birds and usually a nesting pair of bald eagles, There is a State Park admission fee. Leaving from the Green parking garage, we should be there by 9:30 am. Bring a lunch/snack.
Meet at 8:15 am at the first level of the Green parking lot. Depart at 8:30 am. Destination may change due to weather conditions.
